What is Sympathy and Grief Outreach?
Sympathy and Grief Outreach is someone who bears witness without judging, and gently encourages the expressions of thoughts and feelings in an emotionally safe space.
We have someone who bears witness without judging, and gently encourages the expressions of thoughts and feelings in an emotionally safe space.
Losing an animal companion and family member is one of the hardest experiences, which is why at Parkway Small Animal and Exotic Hospital we have someone here to help.
Who is your Sympathy and Grief Outreach coordinator?
Our certified Pet Loss and Grief Companion, Irene, brings a lifetime of respect, care and love for animals. Her mission is to combine knowledge, experience and passion in meeting the needs of heartbroken people who have lost their beloved family pets.
What kind of animals do you help with?
Whether they are furred, feathered, or scaled they are your family as well as ours. We provide sympathy and grief outreach to all of our clients and their families. We will do everything in our power to help.
I want to remember them in a special way, what options do I have?
We partner with Faithful Companion, who provides cremation services as well as remembrance keepsakes. Owners may decide to purchase special boxes, urns, and memorial paw-prints.
No matter how big or small we will do whatever we can to help. That can be planning a funeral or placing cremains in a special piece of jewelry.
What is your annual pet memorial and who can come?
Our annual pet memorial is a candlelight celebration of the life and story of your pet and their family. Once a year, clients and their family come together as a community to share laughs, tears and life stories. It’s another safe and secure place to express feelings regarding our loss and our joy of having our pet companions with others who are going through the same experience.
